Do movies reflect real life careers

Do movies reflect real life careers
The movie, which depicts my profession is ‘Hello’, where the story focuses on a call center. It just shows one process, but normally in a BPO there are approximately 25-30 processes. It shows all the characters doing timepass but in real life it is a really tough job where one has to work for productive eight hours with just a one hour break, not at all glamourous.
—Amit Kumar Chetwani, senior executive in a BPO

If you think that being a doctor is anything like what they have shown in the movie ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ forget it. One can’t cure a patient just by giving a ‘jaadu ki jappi’ and doctors never do that. Their job is to treat patients by prescribing medication based on their symptoms, not to give hugs. It shows a patient in serious condition lying unattended because he has not filled a form. In reality, in case of an emergency doctors leave everything else and treat that patient without any delay. One should never get carried away by whatever is shown in the movie about the medical field. To know the nitty gritty involved, they should refer to relevant books, meet medical professionals and surf the internet to get accurate information.
—Dr. Pankaj Parikh, MBBS

In the movie ‘Fashion’, the designers have been portrayed in a negative light. All fashion designers in the movie have designed atrocious clothes that can only be worn by models on the ramp. In reality, designs are also made for normal people, which can be comfortably worn for any occasion, party and function. The movie also depicted models smoking and being addicted to drugs, drinks, etc, which again is not always the case in real life. Models are diet conscious and they take good care of their health.
— Jay Lapsiya, fashion designer
