Comics on the loose

Mumbai’s comic lovers will gather in the city from October 20-21 at the World Trade Center, Cuffe Parade. Mumbai Film & Comics Convention, the first of it’s kind for India is being organised by Comic Con India.
The event will feature costume play for kids and adults, special previews and panels on various upcoming Indian and international films, workshops with creators (artists and writers) of popular comics and graphic novels, merchandise, home entertainment/DVDs, toys, posters, book launches, contests and lots more.
The tremendous response to Mumbai’s first travelling comic con, held last October, ensured that a regular convention in the city was certainly due. Jatin Varma, founder, Comic Con India says, “At the core, the event will remain a comics convention, however, with the inaugural edition we wish to take small steps towards bringing in Indian and foreign cinema. We hope to expand and build upon this in the coming years and provide Mumbai, its biggest pop-culture event of the year.”
