Bulgarian National Bank issued Bulgarian Lev banknotes in 16 different denominations, including this 50 old Leva banknote Bulgaria (1951 issue). They are part of the withdrawn Bulgarian Old Lev banknotes series. The Bulgarian National Bank started issuing these 50 Bulgarian Lev banknotes in 1951. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1962.
This banknote of 50 old Bulgarian Leva is dated 1951 and features the portrait of Georgi Dimitrov Mikhaylov, Bulgaria’s first communist head of state. On the back side is an image of an woman with a basket of roses.
