Shahid excited about reuniting with his ‘guru’ for Zee Cine Awards

Actor Shahid Kapoor has more than one reason to be excited about his performance at the Zee Cine Awards 2012 slated for tonight in Macau. Not only will the actor be doing what he enjoys the most — dancing on stage — but this time around he will be dancing to his medley of songs that have been choreogarphed by his once dance guru Shiamak Davar, with whom he had actually started his Bollywood journey. One can recall the actor being a part of Shiamak’s troup for a song in the Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor starrer Taal as well. Insiders who recall having trained with Shahid back then reveal that if anything, Shahid has only become much more hard-working than ever. “Back then he would work the hardest and even today he has the same enthusiam and passion for dancing,” shared the insider. In fact, the source reveals that Shahid did not back out from rehearsing even for a day despite suffering from a hamstring injury while working out on the sets of a film that he was shooting for. “We have worked with so many actors, but he’s one of the rare ones, who put in this high amount of work for one performance,” the insider added. Shahid himself was said to be really looking forward to his performance at the awards function to be held tonight. “He’s really excited about performing on stage in Macau tonight and has been working hard on his performance too,” said another source.

Akshaye wants to impress Anna

Actor Akshaye Khanna and his upcoming film Gali Gali Chor Hai’s team are apparently planning to make a quick trip to Ralegaon Siddhi — social activist Anna Hazare’s home. If sources are to be believed then the film’s cast and crew will be there at Anna’s hometown to show the film. “Our film is based on how a common man decides to fight corruption and try to change the wrongs in our system. Something that Anna and his team have been fighting for quite some time. He is the modern day Gandhian who has inspired plenty of common people in India to defy the corruption that is deep rooted in our nation today. And in spite of being a very commercial film, the story tries to highlight the issue of corruption. Hence we all want to show it to Anna and know from him about our small attempt to put light on the issue in an entertaining way.”

Actor-turned-producer Sherlyn Chopra has a busy day planned ahead. The leggy lass, who has a roof top Naughty Santa theme party planned for her sister and friends today says that Christmas is usually a mix of spending time with loved ones, charity and loads of partying. Today will be no different. Ask Sherlyn what is going through her mind on this day and she gets sentimental saying that in a way she represents the emotional upheaval that most youth tide through.
“I am today’s youth. At 26, I understand their pulse. We don’t look for a reason to celebrate life. We just do it. In our pursuit of happiness, we fall in love, get out of tiring relationships, change our jobs, our friends and our lifestyles. We deal with heart breaks, career set-backs; face judgment from our families over our career choices and our personal lives. In the midst of all our emotional upheaval caused by ambition, aggression, rejection, transition, addiction, limitation and competition, the one thing that remains constant within us is our deep desire to be happy. It is ‘happiness’ which is available in abundance but is perceived to be limited,” says Sherlyn hoping that she can spread the joy in her Sexy Santa avatar today.
The actor says that she has a 10 point schedule charted out to make this Christmas extra-special. “I intend to start my day by living in the present. I’ll pamper myself and indulge in my favourite activity — make-up. Then I’ll put on my sexy Santa attire — a red tube dress with stilettoes and my Santa cap. I’ll carry my red sack of gifts and head to Mount Mary church to light a candle.” Post that, it will be a healthy, yet scrumptious Christmas brunch with a bunch of friends, she adds. “After brunch, my friends and I will visit a slum to distribute Christmas gifts among the slum children and their parents. This is a regular practice. Later in the day I’ll try to squeeze in some ‘me time’ — change into white pyjamas with red polka dots, a red bikini top (not to forget my Santa cap) and chill by my poolside over champagne and cupcakes. A power nap followed by a quick shower and I’ll be ready to party again in my matt red leather pants with a see-through black top with a built-in bustier and killer patent black boots. Some club hopping and hip-shaking later it will be party time again at my roof top with my sister and her friends,” says Sherlyn. The dress code? Naughty Santa, of course, she reminds us.

Buzz is that cricketer Yuvraj Singh who will be off to Australia soon for the upcoming series, has planned a Christmas bash before he takes off. The sportsman who is currently in Delhi training for the forthcoming matches is apparently having a big bash for Christmas in Delhi. While his team mates will not be able to make it, since most of them are in Australia already for the series, he has invited a special someone from Bollywood for the bash. No points for guessing who it is because, it is actor Ameesha Patel. Yuvi was recently linked to Ameesha, when he apparently invited her for the World Cup finals that India won this year. Apparently, at that time, she had said that Yuvraj was a good friend and he had specially invited her for the WC finals. What is even more interesting is that while talking to her fans on Twitter, she accidentally revealed that she was celebrating her X’mas at Yuvi’s party. We don’t know what made her delete that tweet because a couple of hours later, that particular tweet could not be seen on her time line. She instead posted, “Mite mostly be in delhi for xmas.. Attending an important event.”

Look, Mona’s back!

According to the buzz doing the rounds in Tellywood, actor Mona Singh — who’s still best known as Jassi of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin — will soon be seen in producer Ekta Kapoor’s yet to be titled, unannounced new show on Sony. Apparently the show, which is inspired by the Salman Khan-Karisma Kapoor starrer Biwi No 1, will have Mona play the role of the biwi. This show will mark Mona’s return to the fiction format after a gap of a couple of years. Though, the actor remained a popular face on the small screen as a host on several reality entertainment shows, she was not seen in any of the regular soaps in a full-fledged role.

Apparently, all’s not quite well with petite
actor Sara Khan’s health and sources say
that she has been in and out of the ho
spital. Insiders say that she underwent a
surgery a few months back and despite
doctor’s advice to take rest, the actor has
not been taking a break at all. In fact,
according to insiders, the actor was so
unwell during the recently held shoot of
Zee Rishtey Awards, that she could
barely stand. However, the source
adds, that Sara did not let her ill-health
hamper the schedule in any way. Says
a source, “Sara was on saline drips
the entire day, but that did not act as
an impediment for her to be a part of
the shoot. Despite all the uneasiness,
Sara was a thorough professional
throughout the show and completed all
her dance sequences with a smile on
her face!”
