VERSATILE DESIGNS IN AN ECLECTIC COLLECTION

Friday evening saw many celebrities turn up in their favourite Anita Dongre ensemble to cheer for the designer as she showcased her Winter Festive Collection, Jaipur Bride
2013, at the Lakme Fashion Week. As models sashayed down the runway, singer Sona Mohapatra rendered some soulful folk music numbers. The fusion — of fashion and folk music — added to the ambience of the show.
Anita reinvented her signature gotapatti work and bandhini prints, giving them form in structured and geometric-patterned lehengas and
gowns. The collection saw the traditional bandi for men being given a contemporary versatile twist — the designer recreated it for women and paired it with gowns, lehengas, skirts and palazzo pants.
By the time the show ended, each celebrity present had added one of Anita’s ensembles to their wish list.
